Ocean pollution is a major problem of the 21st century. Marine life is dying faster than ever due to the ever growing problem of pollution. The marine life that dies due to the garbage are: Over one million seabirds, three hundred thousand dolphins and porpoises, and one hundred thousand sea mammals each year. In the pacific ocean there is a floating mass of garbage that has the surface area of two Texas's. That is equivalent to 537,640 square miles. This area is larger than most countries. On this island of trash alone there would be potentially multiple time zones. As a civilized and proactive race, we need to, as one, work together to stop the pollution of the ocean and more importantly, our home.
