He led the team in every statistic.

Errors and strikeouts not included

On the field he was majestic,

On the bench, he only rooted

For his boys with the same dream.

 

He was the best man on the team,

Some would say the MVP.

He was as fast as the wind,

And had a swing just like The Kid.

 

His homers towered over the batter’s eye

And around the bases his PF’s would fly.

He was a leader by default;

A mindframe as strong as a vault.

 

He was mentally sound

And physically steady pound for pound.

The kid was driven for success
