Disaster 

 

It is 2023, The war on terror has been raging for nine years. Mass shootings and acts of terrorism are a weekly occurance in all major countries of the world. Through constant bombings and wasted resources, the world's super powers have failed to have an impact on the largest terrorist organization in the history of the world, ISIS. In this day and age ISIS has recruited and added drastically to its group, their troop total is now at two million soldiers. The Middle East is completely overtaken by the group. The Islamic State is no longer underestimated. In its capture of Iran, it has gained resources and has its own nuclear program, stolen from Iran. In addition to the horror of a nuclear program in the hands of terrorists, news reports say that ISIS has "stumbled upon" lost nuclear material off of the coast of Greenland. The United States seems to be the last hope in fighting the war, as Russia has closed its borders along with the rest of the world. With a devastating threat that is now imminent, the United States shuts its borders as well, being one of the Islamic State's biggest targets. Although the US shuts its borders, it is too late. Since the War On Terrorism began, thousands of Islamic State soldiers have been granted citizenship in the US disguised as refugees, hiding like sleeper cells in the major cities. When the particual day to carry out their mission comes on Monday, May 22, 2023, ISIS sleeper cells load semis by the hundreds and head to the major cities of each state in the continental US, dressed from head to toe in bullet proof vests and bullet resistant gear. Equipped with military grade heavy machine guns and plan to shoot everything and anything. With the passing of the Debarment of Arms Act passing in 2021, American citizens were no longer able to legally posses firearms. The people on May 22, 2023 were left to be helplessly slaughtered until the arrival of police, armed with low caliber handguns, arrived six minutes after the initial 911 phone call is made.

 

     The Islamic State launches missle attacks on the White House and Pentagon on the same day, May 22nd, 2023. After the missles launch the country goes into EMERGCON and DEFCON Level 1, the most severe. Missles launched by ISIS are mostly destroyed in air by US defense machines but Islamic extremists still penetrate the White House's gates, opening fire on all gaurds and people.

 

     As citizens in major cities are being shot down and overrun, and shortly after the missle strikes, an EMP burst activated by North Korea wipes out the United States Electrical Grid. The country goes into chaos. There is no internet. There is no television. There is no running water. There is no use of cars. There is no use of cell phones, no communication, no nothing that has anything to do with any sort of computer. The Apocoplypse is upon the world and the people of the United States know it. Police forces and government try to establish and maintain order in the country but their efforts are useless. With the fallout of the grid, violence, theft, hate, and crime run rampant in the every corner of the country.

 

     The last of the three meeting places that I have established with my best friend in case of an emergency is where we meet. We gather our belongings and what we need to survive, and head into the woods, away from it all and hoping to escape the danger of the larger populated cities. As outdoorsmen we plan to survive on the land and travel to the lesser populated places of North America.
